So the printer that I was using for my con prints had nice smooth and shiny ink, right?  Like it had kind of a glossy look.
THAT PRINTER IS GONE.
The new replacement has just plain print ink.  FOR WHATEVER REASON I DO NOT KNOW.

But now I'm freaked out.  I don't have money to pay Kinko's or some other kind of print shop to do prints for me, but I want them to look professional so they will sell.
I CAN'T AFFORD THIS I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME PRINTER AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH.

Honestly, I'm about ready to just say SCREW IT and be a hobo and not care.

I am dealing with SO MUCH SHIT right now guys.
College is pretty much raping me with a coat hanger these days...I have like four projects due at the beginning of next week, and one of them was ALMOST done until I lost over 9000 hours of work because it glitched (for those of you wondering, yes I DID back it up.  The backup got messed up to.  I don't get it either).
My money situation is retarded lately and not getting much better, which is BAD to say the least.

So after that little...explosion (see my last journal), I am trying to get my head back on straight.  As you can see from my recent uploads, I'm getting out and being sporadic again.  Which is, honestly, something I hugely need...due to not having much time or many (mobile) friends here, not to mention the weather, I've had a hard time getting out and goofing around.  As simple as it sounds, this is actually a big deal for me seeing as at my old college, we got together and goofed around like every two days.

So I've had a busy break.  Mostly, it's been consumed by production art for my animation class (which I was not happy about, because ShutoCon is what, two weeks away and I have like no prints).  I did manage to squeeze a little fun in there by way of hitting up the little amusement parks around town with some friends (by amusement parks I mean laser tag, go kart, arcade, pizza buffet kind of parks).  I also got to see Rango with my dad, and all I can say about it is SEE IT.  Very well done movie.

But hey, I got my prints done...not nearly as MANY as I wanted but the ones that I do have are pretty cool and stuff, I'm pleased with how they all came out so that's a step in the right direction.
I'll be setting up pretty much as soon as I get there so YEUP come buy my stuff like seriousbsns.  Prease.

03/27/11--10:14: Obligatory ShutoCon Recap (chan 2064152)




So ShutoCon was pretty amazing actually.
Over 1400 people at a FIRST YEAR CON, I was like WHOA.  I think we beat out Youmacon for the record there.

Artist alley was so much fun, despite some issues with the prints being toned wrong and such I still managed to cover the cost over twice.  Spent half and saved half for Acen.  Also now most of my Kamina cosplay is funded!  
The other artists were amazingly talented and fun, a big shout-out to them for giving me so much inspiration and tips for my next AA display, you guys are super awesome. HEY WATCHERS you should go check these people out: :devcubecra

Finally, I catch a break.

Stuff is actually pretty cool right now, you guys.  I've gotten a lot of commissions, enough to cover my iPod and I finally met my Acen goal!  Sold a piece for $120, the most my art has ever gone for, to my favourite teacher.  I have like two to three more commissions to do and then I can FINALLY get back to Light City.

Speaking of favourite teacher, my class with him ended today.  I'm happy, because I feel like I have accomplished something, but sad because that man is wise like Yoda and I will miss learning in his class.

So I kind of forgot to tell you guys about my Ann Arbor trip!
It was awesome, yeup.  We all cosplayed and went around downtown to all sorts of interesting places like a bubbletea parlor, the comic book store (which was HUGE), the arcade (TRON ARCADE GAME AW YISS), and graffiti alley.  I almost lost my wallet but by a miracle it was returned to me 0u0

I have Halloween on the brain lately, you guys.  I know that doesn't make sense this early in the year but there you have it.

In keeping with the Halloween obsession, I am going back to my Gothic roots more.  Sadly though, since most of my gear wore

So due to many complications in life right now, Kamina will not be able to make his debut at Acen :<
I am sad, but this gives me more time to work on him for his June 25 debut at Jafax instead!  And he will be with a Yoko, Viral, AND Garlock Simon!
I AM still scrounging for funds to finish his costume so any commissions you guys can order or any interested parties you can send my way are extremely helpful!

In his place I will be breaking out Hunter Gordon Freeman, and possibly a casual Vlad? OHOHO JUST YOU WAIT MY LOVELIES.

As of tonight, Jarvis (my lappy) is getting repairs done (sticky keys, touchpad issues).  These can take up to 5 or even 7 days to fix, so I will be without any ability to post art and/or journals.

I CAN reply to comments and such via iPod, so if you're interested in a commission from me at all, don't feel like you can't ask!  It'll just take a bit longer since I have to wait for Jarvis to come back to start work on it.

Sooooo quick update from me, heading to Acen on the 18th, got most of my cosplay junk done, and I am taking adult driver's ed now.
It's a bit scary since I haven't been behind the wheel of a car in so long but the way things look I should have my license by my birthday, which is really exciting for me!

SO happy to have my comp back...in the art realm I will probably be doing a couple stupid fun drawings before I undertake on the next big thing (which will most likely be Laz's ref.  He needs one. Badly).

Yeah I hate my art style these days, everything looks bland...trying to re-shape it a bit.  I think I like that Patrick Brown-shading a lot, I will probably be using that more, and adding my own tweaks as I get better.

Okay so like, for starters, Z is my anthro...sona...thing
Well not the Z you've seen, I've sort of "split" her into 2 uses, character!Z and sona!Z

The problem is with sona!Z I was originally going to draw her pretty much the same, just with my newer hairstyle and clothes like mine
but I did an on-the-fly sketch of what a male version of her would look like and I'm digging that
Plus I kind of want a design that works with my own fluidity

So uh I guess the questions, is having a sona that can...alternate between male and female weird, should I just go with the boy version, or should I find a happy medium?
